What is the referral program?
Dainty's referral program lets writers share a personal referral link. When a new writer signs up using that link and buys a word pack, both sides benefit:
- The new writer gets a discount on their first word pack purchase.
- The referring writer earns free word credits for proofreading on Dainty.
Discount for referred writers
When you sign up using a referral link, you receive a discount on your first word pack purchase. The discount is a percentage of the pack price and is applied at checkout. The current discount rate is shown on the checkout page when a valid referral code is applied.
- The discount applies to one purchase only.
- It cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
- It has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
Word credits for referring writers
When a writer you referred makes their first word pack purchase, free word credits are added to your account. The word credits equal a percentage of the referred writer's pack word count.
For example, if the current commission rate is 10% and the referred writer buys a 60,000-word pack, you receive 6,000 free word credits.
- Word credits are added to your account automatically.
- The current commission rate is set by Dainty and may change over time.
- Word credits expire 90 days after they are granted.
- Word credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
Word credit delivery
Word credits are delivered automatically when the referred writer's purchase is confirmed. There is no manual review or payout threshold.
- Credits are available for use immediately after grant.
- Credits expire 90 days from the date they are granted.
- Unused credits at expiry are forfeited.
- Credits are applied to your account alongside any active word packs. They are consumed in the order determined by Dainty's quota system.
No cash value
Word credits are not wages, employment income, or guaranteed earnings. They are a voluntary benefit provided as in-platform service credits. Word credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money or other consideration. The referral program is a voluntary benefit that Dainty may modify, suspend, or terminate at any time without prior notice. Past commission rates do not guarantee future rates.
Program changes
Dainty reserves the right to change the referral program at any time, including:
- Commission and word credit rates
- Word credit expiry periods
- Program terms and conditions
- Suspending or discontinuing the program entirely
Changes take effect immediately for new referrals. Existing word credits and pending commissions will be handled according to the terms in effect when they were earned, unless otherwise required.
Rules and abuse prevention
To keep the program fair, the following rules apply:
- You cannot refer yourself.
- Each writer can only be referred once.
- A referrer's account must be at least 24 hours old before they can earn word credits.
- Fraud, abuse, or attempts to game the program (including but not limited to fake accounts, referral farming, or incentivizing signups with payments) may result in forfeiture of word credits and removal from the program.
- Dainty reserves the right to void word credits, suspend accounts, or take other action if abuse is detected.
Tax responsibility
You are responsible for understanding and fulfilling any tax obligations that apply to benefits you receive through the referral program in your jurisdiction. Dainty does not provide tax advice and does not withhold taxes on program benefits unless required by law.
