What is the referral program?

Dainty's referral program lets writers share a personal referral link. When a new writer signs up using that link and buys a word pack, both sides benefit:

• The new writer gets a discount on their first word pack purchase.
• The referring writer earns a commission, tracked in their account as a credit.

Discount for referred writers

When you sign up using a referral link, you receive a discount on your first word pack purchase. The discount is a percentage of the pack price and is applied at checkout. The current discount rate is shown on the checkout page when a valid referral code is applied.

• The discount applies to one purchase only.
• It cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
• It has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.

Commission for referring writers

When a writer you referred makes their first word pack purchase, a commission credit is added to your account. The commission is a percentage of the pre-discount purchase amount, in the currency of the purchase.

• Commission credits appear as pending and are reviewed before payout.
• The current commission rate is set by Dainty and may change over time.
• Commissions are tracked per currency and shown in your dashboard.

Payout process

Commission payouts are reviewed manually. When your pending commission balance meets or exceeds the payout threshold in a given currency, you become eligible for review.

• Payouts are reviewed on or around the 26th of each month.
• Current thresholds: ₦5,000 (NGN) or $10 (USD) in pending commissions. These thresholds may change.
• Payments are sent manually by the Dainty team using bank transfer or the method available in your market.
• Being eligible for review does not guarantee that a payout will be made. Payouts are at Dainty's discretion and subject to these terms.
• Dainty is not responsible for delays caused by payment providers, bank processing times, or incorrect account information provided by the user.

No guaranteed income

Program changes

Dainty reserves the right to change the referral program at any time, including:

• Discount and commission rates
• Payout thresholds and schedules
• Program terms and conditions
• Suspending or discontinuing the program entirely

Changes take effect immediately for new referrals. Existing pending commission credits will be handled according to the terms in effect when they were earned, unless otherwise required.

Rules and abuse prevention

To keep the program fair, the following rules apply:

• You cannot refer yourself.
• Each writer can only be referred once.
• A referrer's account must be at least 24 hours old before they can earn commissions.
• Fraud, abuse, or attempts to game the program (including but not limited to fake accounts, referral farming, or incentivizing signups with payments) may result in forfeiture of commissions and removal from the program.
• Dainty reserves the right to void commissions, suspend accounts, or take other action if abuse is detected.

Tax responsibility

You are responsible for understanding and fulfilling any tax obligations that apply to commissions you earn through the referral program in your jurisdiction. Dainty does not provide tax advice and does not withhold taxes on commission payouts unless required by law.
